Sydney Metro TBM Breakthrough at Waterloo Station
TBM “Nancy” breakthrough at the new Waterloo Station site, PSM team represented by (L to R) – Zip Ye, Samantha Mackay, Ronald Tan, Juno Liang
PSM has been providing construction phase geotechnical services (CPS) to John Holland CPB Ghella (JHCPBG) on the Sydney Metro City & Southwest project since January 2018.
Our currently 12 member team, continues to play a small but significant role by verifying the ground conditions expected in the design, during the construction phase.
TBM “Nancy” broke through at Waterloo Station on Friday 5 April 2019 – one of many milestones for the Sydney Metro project. The TBM traveled 3.1km from its launch at the Marrickville dive site, in less than six months. The TBM will continue via new underground stations at Central, Pitt Street and Martin Place before its final destination at Barangaroo Station.
