OUR APPROACH
We undertake site-specific Probabilistic Seismic Hazard Assessments (PSHA) and Deterministic Seismic Hazard Assessments (DSHA), including investigations of active faults and earthquake-generating structures. Our assessments provide a sound basis for seismic design across a wide range of projects, including critical infrastructure, tunnels, slopes, mining operations, tailings storage facilities (TSFs) and dams.

EARTHQUAKE GEOLOGY
Our earthquake geology investigations combine detailed geomorphological assessment, neotectonic analysis and paleoseismic techniques to evaluate fault activity, reconstruct earthquake history and support seismic hazard assessments.
Our earthquake geology investigations include:
- Tectonic geomorphology and active landscape interpretation
- Fault trace and landslide mapping
- Fault trenching, logging and interpretation of earthquake history
- Geochronological dating using techniques such as Optically Stimulated Luminescence (OSL) and radiocarbon dating
- Kinematic analysis of active faults
- Estimation of fault slip rates, recurrence intervals, rupture lengths and coseismic displacements
- Estimation of past and potential future earthquake magnitudes
