Principal Geotechnical Engineer at PSM, Ben Rouvray has more than 30 years’ experience as a geotechnical engineer across a broad range of infrastructure projects. Ben has managed and contributed as geotechnical lead to a variety of major infrastructure projects, including rail and roads, hydropower, dams, tunnels, mining and land development throughout Australia, New Zealand, Asia and the Middle East. He has worked extensively in the delivery of all phases of a project life cycle, from pre-feasibility through detailed design and construction supervision to risk and asset management, forensic investigations and expert opinion reports. Ben has been involved in various technical advisory roles as well as design, review and assurance roles for a variety of owner and contractor client organisations.
Ben has worked on numerous projects across Australia, and New Zealand. He has a particular talent for leading and being involved in multi-disciplinary teams on large-scale projects providing strategic solutions to geotechnical related challenges on infrastructure projects.
Ben is an active mentor at PSM, supporting his peers particularly during the delivery of major or uniquely challenging projects. He also delivers lectures within the Master’s programme at the University of New South Wales and has previously lectured at the University of Canterbury in NZ. Ben has published a number of technical papers, drawing on project case studies that feature innovative geotechnical solutions or share project-derived insights with the broader industry.
